Here are some pictures I took in our November tour. My sister taught on the top of the hill, in the rain. Last time we were there it was so windy Kent (a friend and a teacher we brought on the tour to help lead) had to teach sideways so he could read the scriptures.
Enjoy these pictures!
Bethany, this from the Mount of Jumpification. 🙂 Inside joke there, but I feel like I should explain.
This is my families’ 28th tour of the holy land. We have had the same guide every time. One time my dad and the guide overheard another guide explaining what happened at this very site. In Luke 4, Jesus is driven out of the synagogue:
28 All the people in the synagogue were furious when they heard this. 29 They got up, drove him out of the town, and took him to the brow of the hill on which the town was built, in order to throw him off the cliff. 30 But he walked right through the crowd and went on his way.
The other guide told their group that Jesus jumped from this hill to another hill shown in these pictures. From that point on my dad called this the Mount of Jumpification.
